New morning discovery time

The students have been very excited the last three weeks back at school to experience our new morning activities. When the students arrive at school now they get to sign themselves into an activity that they would like to do for the first 20 minutes at school. The activities at the moment are creating with Lego, Oral language&creativity with puppets and a puppet theatre, writing table, Maths table, IPADS-Literacy&Numeracy Apps, Handwriting practise, Creative play with a Dolls house and a kitchen, reading in the reading tent and an Inquiry wall based around our Body learning. The students have dressed up as an optician and role played doing eye tests and choosing glasses. For our Five Sense learning the students experienced a 'feely box' where they had to describe what objects felt like using their senses.

Our new Inquiry topic this term is 'Our Brilliant Body'. We started off our learning by focusing on our Five senses. We made Popcorn and used our senses to smell the popcorn, hear it popping, see it popping and then we got to feel and taste the popcorn. We did some amazing descriptive writing using our senses.

We were very lucky to have two sessions with some Fire Fighters who taught us all about Fire Safety. We are now Fire Wise! We had to make sure we told parents to check Fire alarms at home. We learnt to crawl down low and go, go,go if there is a fire and get out to a safe meeting place to wait for families- by the letterbox. We even got to have a go at squirting the fire hose.

Religion

At the end of last term we made Lion masks to retell the story Daniel and the Lion's Den that we had been learning about in Religion. Can you spot us under our masks?

End of Term3 Maths learning celebration & Footy day

Thank-you to all  the wonderful parents who came in for our end of term learning Maths celebration. It was great sharing our learning with you. We also had a dress up day where the students came dressed in their Footy colours.
